Ocean Air Elementary School proudly competed in the USC Invitational Science Olympiad, entering the middle school category despite being an elementary school. This prestigious competition featured over 90 teams from some of the nation's top schools, including past National Science Olympiad champions. Against this highly competitive field, Ocean Air students achieved remarkable results, earning medal placements in three events and leaving their mark with impressive performances!
Overall our teams placed 22, 57, and 62 places out of 85 middle schools. The full results are available on the Duosmium website!
Highlights include:
- 2nd Place in Tower: Chengshuang Liu and Ryan Gao
- 7th Place in Air Trajectory: Ryan Gao and Natalie Chen
- 8th Place in Fossils: Arnav and Ronit Gurjar
- 9th Place in Metric Mastery, 11th Place in Optics, and 12th Place in Codebusters, showcasing incredible growth.
- Two helicopter teams (Seoyoon, Aleesha, Natalie, and Neil) soared to 13th and 14th Place, while Calvin Kim excelled solo in Reach for the Stars, securing 15th Place, alongside Elias Miller and Amy D'Costa in Towers.
