Introduction:

The Science Olympiad Organization is a national non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of K-12 science education, increasing interest in science, and creating a technologically-literate workforce. At Ocean Air, Science Olympiad is a PTA program run by a committee of parent volunteers.

Teams of 15 students compete in 23 academic events in groups of 2-3 students per event. Ocean Air competes in the B Division, which is the Middle School Division including grades 6-8. Students start the year in mid September with lots of learning and exploration, with invitational competitions starting in December and official competitions starting in February. Competitions are held on Saturdays and are in the San Diego/LA area.
